Bought bright, shiny blue material and gold posterboard to make a few accessories for the show....and I made sure to get enough to make my son, Cameron, a cape, too.....
So, as I've been "practicing" the "Wonder Momma" parody my son has been listening at night, I guess. He keeps asking me to sing it. Here's an excerpt from it:
"Wonder Momma! Children always asking of you--
Give me money! Take me there!
Get gum out of my hair...
Wash my underwear...
All you wants an hour for you!:)"
I have to admit I've always liked the song and remember asking...O.K. maybe begging in college to sing back up for the Kudzu Kings whenever they sang it--but was never allowed to--( perhaps b/c I'd usually had too much to drink).....pretty smart.

It's All Coming Together!
So, there will be 3 performances this time around. This may be too much for a first run, but I'm focusing on getting the word out about the project, so that more women may be interested in sharing their own stories/anecdotes for next year's show. I still need to borrow someone's camcorder b/c ours is on the fritz:( (it's just to film two short clips for the Sunday show).......
The first two nights are at a place that seats 30 and the Mother's Day matinee is at a larger space that we'll also be able to do some projection/slide shows.
This year's venues, dates, and times are as follows:
May 1 and May 2 at 8PM - New Movement Theater at 1813 Rosewood Ave.
Sunday May 10 4pm at Salvage Vanguard Theater 2803 Manor Rd
